The most interesting features of Lightroom 5 are actually in Photoshop, especially when talking about accurate, dialed in color reproduction. Going back in time is pretty simple with this new program. First, select the movie menu and select Open Black and White from the menu. Then hit F for that movie, and you’ll see a menu that looks like what you see here.
You see that carousel of images? Drag one into the box on the top left, where it can be cropped and adjusted. Click the bar below the photo, where you’ll see the tools available to you. In the top toolbar, click the crop tool, then select smart from the menu bar. Then drag a marquee so that it is just above the social links area, then move it down a bit by dragging the corner. Then drag to constrain the crop to include that building’s corner, which should end up as a vertical crop mark within the marquee. Now you can crop with the smart data you just set up as a guide.

Next, let’s talk about Levels. Select Levels and choose the option between Luminance and Color. Increase or decrease the level to change the look of the image. Generate the effect using the triangle or arrow tools. You can also can use this tool to increase or decrease the exposure and contrast while also the gamma and brightness settings. In the lower portion click with the inside tool to see how you can affect the foreground or background.
