Tweaking Windows is fairly straightforward, as long as you remember to restart your computer after every change. To access these settings, you’ll need to press the Windows button and the Cog key on your computer. From this menu, you will be able to configure Windows settings. The first thing you will need to do is choose a keyboard layout. Then, you’ll be able to change the size and position of your Windows taskbar. You will also be able to change the size of your desktop by choosing between small, medium, and large. You can also change the color of the desktop and the Windows taskbar by selecting a color scheme. When you’ve finished adjusting the size and location of your Windows interface, you’ll need to reboot your computer. This will make sure the changes are saved.
Combining the latest Photoshop features with legacy applications like Photoshop Elements works seamlessly. It’s fascinating to me to see the Ages of Photoshop on the Adobe website that show just how dramatically the software has evolved. I don’t only mean the feature set, but the sheer number of new products that have arisen in the last 21 years.
The ability to open and edit PSD document (from the Windows desktop) is a godsend for me. Up until now, I’ve always had to use the Pixelmator Bridge for that purpose. There’s still much work to be done, however, as far as the availability of more file types go. For example, I still have no way of opening PSD files created by the newer versions of Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop has no native way of importing 3D files yet. Both of those things will happen in future releases, though, and they will be welcome improvements.
It’s only been six months since Adobe released Max 2018 and I’m still not sure quite what to make of the latest version. I like the UI, but I’m having trouble imagining what my workflow will look like once the cloud-based features come online.
I do have one quarrel with the program, however. One of my biggest gripes with the application is how difficult it is to share image files. With the native editing features, it’s as easy as hitting the Publish button. However, the Publish to the media browser aspect is nothing short of more frustrating than it needs to be.
While the new UI is the star of the show, there are several features that have steadily been rolling out over the years. The introduction of layers, a greater focus on the workflow, and the continual improvement of features like perspective correction, are all indications that Adobe understands that the program needs to evolve or die out.
